Special Education
The Boise School District provides a full continuum of special education services and classroom settings to support eligible students with disabilities. Eligibility is determined in accordance with the Idaho Special Education Manual. A student may qualify for services when the evaluation team determines the student meets criteria for a disability, the disability adversely impacts educational performance, and the student requires specially designed instruction.
The district is committed to serving students in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).Whenever possible, students attend their neighborhood school and learn alongside their same-aged peers in the general education classroom. All schools provide Resource Room (RR) services, and some students may receive more specialized or intensive supports at designated schools when their needs require services that cannot be provided at their home school.
