Open: 8:00 a.m., June 15, 2020
Close: 5:00 p.m., June 26, 2020

  1. The Declaration of Candidacy form must be returned to the Clerk of the Board no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 26, 2020. The form must be completely filled out.

     

  2. During the Declaration of Candidacy filing time (June 15 - 26, 2020) anyone who has questions regarding serving as a Trustee can meet with the Clerk of the Board. Please call 208-854-4123. 


  3. Candidates are welcome to submit personal information described on the attached form, according to instructions, by 4:30 p.m. July 6, 2020.

     

  4. Candidates are invited to meet at the Boise School District Services Center (8169 W. Victory Road) on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to participate in the placement of names of candidates on the official election ballot.

     

  5. All candidate names, addresses, occupations and any other information submitted on the Declaration of Candidacy will be given to the news media following the June 26 filing deadline. Information may be released earlier if requested.


  6. The Clerk will begin mailing Absentee Ballots from the District Service Center beginning August 3, 2020. Last day for requesting a mail-in absentee ballot is August 20, 2020 to be received by the Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day September 1, 2020. Requests for Absentee Ballots must contain the name of the Elector, and the home address as listed with Ada County Elections. The ballot can be mailed to an alternative address if the registration can be confirmed.

     
  7. Early Voting will begin on August 17th 2020 at the District Service Center and will end at 5:00 p.m. on August 28th, 2020.  

     

  8. A virtual forum to introduce candidates will be sponsored by the Boise Schools Education Foundation and will be held August 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.  

     

  9. Trustee Election Polling Locations for the September 1, 2020 Trustee election. Note: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the need for social distancing the Boise School District will only have nine polling locations. Before going to vote, please check this list of polling locations.  

     

  10. The two individuals elected as Trustees on September 1st 2020 will be asked to meet with the Board of Trustees at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2nd 2020 in the Board Room of the Boise School District’s Services Center for an orientation session. 

     

  11. Individuals elected will then be sworn into office during the regular Board meeting on September 14th, 2020.
