Dr. Coberly received the award during the IEA's 2019 Annual Meeting and Delegate Assembly held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Dr. Coberly was nominated by Boise Education Association President Stephanie Myers for the significant contributions he has made to the students and educators of Idaho during his career. 

The award was presented by IEA President Kari Overall, pictured with Dr. Coberly. 

The IEA's Friend of Education Award is presented to a person or persons who have made a special and unique contribution to the cause of education over an extended period of time and particularly in the last year. During Dr. Coberly's 35-years in serving public school students, he has dedicated his energy to advocating for students and educators. Congratulations, Dr. Coberly on this much-deserved state recognition!
